Don't forget we are still riding on the weekends - beginners on Saturday and intermediate/advanced riders on Sunday. Be sure to keep communicating on the forums as needed. There are a lot of century rides coming up this fall that might match our club's sense of adventure really well. Stay tuned!

We have only three more weeks of Performance Cycling left for the season. There are two more workouts, then our final time trial on August 17th. There have been a lot of empty bikes the past few weeks as the tri season has been in full swing. Please be sure to take advantage of the remaining classes! We'll start PC back up when we kick off next season in January! We've all come a long way since that first time trial! |

As we approach the final stages of the tri-season we have had less and less interest in the group speed workouts at the Palatine track. At this point we would like to direct individuals still looking for speed work to participate in the Fast Track Racing sessions at Harper College on Wednesday nights. Warmups for these sessions start at 5:45 PM. More information may be found at their website: http://www.fasttrackracingteam.com/
Mark P. will be there to help get new YTri members oriented with the groups procedures, but none of you should feel like you wouldn't be able to perform well with this group. All that is asked is that you bring a $1 donation for track rental each week. You will not be required to "join" the racing team.
I think you will all enjoy this immensely!
Update: See the note below from Mark:
There are 4 different pace groups running each week with Fast Track. It sounds like everyone who participated in the speed workouts with our club will fit within one of the groups with Fast Track. So far, Mike , Chris , Rick ,Warren, and KJ have run with us at Fast Track.( I'm probably forgetting a few as well.) Let me know if you'd like to join us and I'll keep an eye out for you.( send me a message thru our website) Mark P

I apologize for the last notice, but due to a combination of high heat index and the fact that most participants either raced last weekend or are going to race this coming weekend tonight's track workout is cancelled.
We'll resume again next week weather permitting.

Because of her preparation for the Racine Half Ironman, Kristan will be unable to teach a late evening class. Sorry for the inconvenience, and we hope you understand! We will pick right back up with our week 8 workout on July 20th. If you are looking to get in a workout on that day still, come to Kristan's 6PM spin class (there may be open bikes!) |
