It's time to get social! Join your friends and teammates on Sunday, February 28th from 4 - 6 p.m. in the Buehler YMCA State Room for an Open House. The event will be casual and it provides a great environment for us all to meet outside of training events. More importantly, there will be free pizza! We hope all new Ytri members will take this opportunity to meet some new teammates. This is a great way to jump-start your new journey with the Ytri club and we look forward to meeting all of you!
Haven't joined the club yet? No worries! Prospective Ytri members are also encouraged to come to find out what we're all about. All are welcome!

Please join us for our annual "Triathlon 101" clinic on Saturday, February 20th at 10:00 AM in the State Room at Buehler YMCA (on the right, just after the check-in desk). Our coach, Sam Stella, will be leading the presentation and discussion about all you ever wanted to know about triathlon but were afraid to ask. Topics include:
Mark your calendar for these upcoming Ytri clinics:
Join your Ytri teammates at the Buehler YMCA pool for coached group swimming workouts. There are two evening sessions each week. Choose between Mondays at 8:30pm or Fridays at 7:00pm...or do both! There is no additional cost for current YMCA members; non-YMCA members will incur a $15 facility access fee payable at the front desk.
Are you new to swimming and not ready for group workouts yet? No problem! Registration is open now for our swimming "Crash Course" on Friday evenings. Registration for the 2016 Swimming "Crash Course" is now open!
The Crash Course is a six-week step-by-step swimming instruction clinic for Ytri members. (This is not for the swimming group workouts. No registration is required for those sessions) This clinic is for those who have some proficiency in the water, but need instruction on efficiency and proper stroke mechanics. If you are a "brand new" swimmer we suggest you register for swimming lessons through the YMCA instead. The clinic will be held on Friday evenings from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. in the Buehler YMCA lap pool. The session will run from February 19th through March 25th. Come prepared to swim with a swimsuit (Men: "jammers" or brief-style suit preferred; no baggy board-shorts. Women: one-piece preferred), goggles, swim-cap (if you have long hair), towel, and a water bottle. Also, if you have a pair of fins or "Zoomers" bring them as well. Fins are not required, but can be helpful. Email Kevin at [email protected] with any questions. Click the button below to register for this course on Eventbrite Ytri Performance Cycling classes have been a key component of the club since its inception. The classes include a three-week preparatory phase and then a 12-week progression of high intensity interval training. The three week "ramp up" sessions are 60 minutes in length. The main class sessions are 90 minutes long. After the three-week prep period, each rider will perform a time-trial to determine power and / or heart rate zones for the subsequent workouts. Classes will be offered Tuesdays from 7:30 - 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 - 11:30 a.m. Sessions begin Tuesday, February 9 and Saturday February 13. Online registration will begin Saturday, February 6 at 5:30 a.m. This early time is chosen to allow all members fair access to signup. The event page will not allow registration until Saturday morning. Also, your 2016 Ytri club membership must be current by Monday, February 8 or you will lose your spot.
Performance Cycling is a challenging, 90-minute cycling class that uses interval training and heart rate zones to increase cycling performance. Each participant will complete a 20 minute time trial, which will determine training zones. Those of you signing up for performance cycling please read the following carefully! Due to expected high demand the following policies have been adopted. Please understand them prior to signing up. 1. You must be a current 2016 YTri Member. Visit our sign-up page for information. 2. You can sign up for the Tuesday session or the Saturday session but not both. Please limit your registration to 1 ticket per member. 3. You can choose to ride a spin bike OR your own bike (bring your own trainer). Please note, your selection is your choice for the entire session. You will not be able to switch mid-session. Non-YMCA members may participate in this class. Go through the normal signup process on our Ytri website. If you get a spot in the class you will be committing to a $225 program fee for the session (which works out to $15/class.) This entire payment goes directly to the YMCA as their facilities-access fee. Payment is expected in-full at the YMCA front desk by the first day of class. 4. Be considerate - Be aware that by signing up and taking one of the reserved spots for the class, we are expecting you to make a long-term commitment to be at class for the entire session (15 weeks). This is a high-demand class, with only so many spots available. If you know that you cannot commit to the session, please make sure you step aside for those that can. Obviously, we understand that sometimes life gets in the way, but do your best to make it to each class, as, it is progressive and builds from week to week. 5. If you did not get a reserved spot in the class because all spaces were taken, but would like to be on "stand-by," please register, so we have you on the wait list. We announced some changes to Ytri programming for the 2016 season, so we wanted to make sure nobody missed the news!
